Project description

Within the framework of this collaboration, the program conducted the following research:

• Analysis of barriers to the development of the greenhouse business in the Kyzylorda region;
• Analysis of rural energy systems and opportunities for improvement energy efficiency in rural areas of the region.

As a result of these studies, the program has identified main issues and gaps and elaborated a respective action plan to overcome these problems, for sustainable development of the greenhouse business in the area. The CCSE program is offered by the GTZ EEWA project to lead management and monitoring of activities envisaged by the action plan.

For the medium term outlook, the GTZ EEWA project and CCSE program also agreed to conduct a feasibility analysis for developing decentralized energy solutions in distant areas of the Kyzylorda oblast, which currently do not have an access to the central power grid.
